German partner for project SensEQuake

We are happy to welcome the University of Bremen as a new partner to our ID3AS project ‘SensEQuake’.

The goal of SensEQuake is to develop a Decision Support System (DSS) that supports parties such as municipalities, the province and emergency services in taking decisions during earthquake crises.

For the project the University of Bremen will perform field tests in Groningen to collect data on the risk of ‘liquefaction’. Liquefaction is a phenomenon in which soil loses it’s strength because of earthquake shaking. The liquefaction data collected by the University of Bremen will be included into the risk model that SensEQuake uses.
